RCIA Intro

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a process for welcoming adult newcomers (inquirers) into the Roman Catholic Church.

RCIA prepares you for the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist by providing a personal journey that leads to a transformation of mind and spirit, both for the you, for the RCIA team, and for the entire parish.  It is intended to help you learn some basics about the Catholic faith, but, more importantly, to deepen your relationship with God.

Guided by the Gospel and the Holy Spirit, and by the examples set by the church members, we will help you find your place in the community of believers.

You probably have a lot of questions about the RCIA at this point; for example,

Can you tell me more about the RCIA process?

What am I getting myself into here?

Is there someone I can talk to about this?

What does it mean to be a Catholic?

What if I just have some questions about being a Catholic?

Why do I need to deepen my relationship with God?

What if I don’t want to continue with my inquiry?

What if I DO want to continue?

Will I be attending “convert classes”?

What will I be learning about?

Isn’t there a lot to learn before I become a Catholic?

Who will be accompanying me on my journey?

When would we meet?

How long will it take?
